Summer Company is a program of the government of Ontario that helps young people between 15 and 29 years old start and run their own summer business by providing funding, advice and services. The province’s Small Business Enterprise Centres and selected non-profit organizations in surrounding communities deliver the program.
The Covid-19 pandemic has created a host of challenges to entrepreneurs worldwide. Unpredictable variables including widespread quarantines, extended school closures, travel restrictions and, often, the inability for entrepreneurs to have a remote workforce have tested the entrepreneur’s ability to quickly pivot and manage their innovative journey. In these challenging times, more than ever creative minds must innovate in order to stay resilient.
This year, two local Small Business Enterprise Centres, ranging in a geographic spread of Simcoe County, will join together in the first collaborative event between centres on October 20, 2021, as a part of Central Ontario’s Premier Business Event, Xcelerate Summit. Join us to meet the youth from these centres who will be featured in a virtual showcase where the public can shop new goods and services, network with the students, but most importantly continue to support local.
